Paper straws, Claudia? Really?

So let me get this straight. Claudia Tenney’s big fight this week is over paper straws?

Meanwhile, folks in NY-24 are struggling to afford groceries, can’t get a doctor’s appointment without waiting months, and are watching their kids leave town because there are no good-paying jobs to keep them here. Farmers are getting crushed by high input costs and bad trade policies. Veterans are still waiting for the care they were promised. And rural hospitals are barely holding on.
But sure, let’s get a bill to codify an EO about straws. That’ll surely help all of you, I’m sure.
This kind of performative politics is exactly what’s broken in Washington. Claudia isn’t focused on solving problems. She’s focused on headlines, outrage, and whatever will stir up the next social media post.
Me? I’m focused on results. On lowering costs for working families. On protecting Social Security and Medicare. On expanding access to rural healthcare. On defending our veterans, our farms, and our freedoms.
We don’t need culture wars. We need leaders who know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck, who’ve served something bigger than themselves, and who will show up every day ready to fight for the people back home.
So, while Claudia’s distracted and cozying up to Trump, I’ll be out talking to folks about how we build a future worth staying for.
