Veteran. Father. Public Servant. Fighter for NY-24.

I’m Steve Holden. I’m not a career politician. I’m a retired Army officer, a dad, and a guy who grew up working sunup to sundown on a dairy farm in Oklahoma, learning early that no one’s too good to shovel manure or stand up for what’s right.

I served this country for 20 years in uniform, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I didn’t just manage payroll. I managed billion-dollar defense budgets that impacted thousands of military families and service members. I’ve worked at the scale where decisions ripple across entire systems, and I know how to make every dollar count. I don't want to go to Washington to climb a ladder, I want to keep my promises, and fight for the people who can’t afford to be ignored.

Service that Delivers

In uniform, I learned how to lead under pressure. I’ve made hard calls that affected lives, not just livelihoods. Washington needs people who won’t flinch when the pressure is on. I earned my MBA and MPA and became a certified defense financial manager because I believed our tax dollars should work as hard as the people who pay them.

When I retired, I didn’t hang it up. I stepped into public service with a purpose. I’ve consulted for local governments, helped small businesses navigate red tape, and stood with veterans, teachers, and farmers who feel left behind by a government that talks a lot and listens too little.

Fighting for Rural Communities

I know rural America because I’ve lived it, not just driven through it for a photo op. From the Genesee Valley to the Finger Lakes and across upstate New York, our communities are proud, hard-working, and fed up with being told to wait our turn. We’ve watched manufacturing jobs disappear, family farms get squeezed, and hospitals close while politicians in Washington argue over who gets credit.

I’m not here to chase headlines. I’m here to work, to bring home federal dollars, protect our Social Security and Medicare, lower the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs, and make sure our veterans get the care they earned. That’s not theory. That’s what I’ve done my whole career.

A New Kind of Leadership

I’ve seen what happens when the government forgets who it serves. And I’ve seen what’s possible when regular people step up and say, “Enough.”.

This campaign isn’t about left or right. It’s about doing right by the people. We need leaders who aren’t afraid of hard work, who show up, listen, and fight to make life better back home. I’ve advised on foreign policy and understand the national security threats we face. I’ve lived the consequences of bad policy, and I know what it takes to keep America safe and strong.

I’m running for Congress because this district deserves someone who knows what it means to serve, not someone chasing their next gig. My loyalty is to the people. Period.

Let’s rebuild trust. Let’s restore dignity. Let’s get to work.

I hope you’ll join me.

- Steve
